Earth Right Now FAQ

What is Earth Right Now?

Earth Right Now — The Live Discovery Engine is a Live Discovery Search Engine. It helps people discover what places look like now through curated live video, current images and provider-hosted live sources. Its guiding phrase is See before you go.

Does ERN own the cameras?

Usually no. Third-party sources remain owned and operated by their providers. ERN identifies the provider and links or embeds only according to the source’s verified operating/permission model.

What does “external live” mean?

The current stream exists and has passed ERN’s current-source rules, but it stays on the provider’s website or player. ERN directs visitors there with Open live source.

What does “source recheck due” mean?

ERN knows the source, but the verification window has expired. It is not treated as current until ERN revalidates it.

How fresh is a source?

Where reliable, destination pages show the latest ERN check date and distinguish that check from embedded-playback verification. A check is evidence at that time, not continuous monitoring.

How does ERN protect privacy?

ERN does not require an account for ordinary exploration. Soft-launch analytics are first-party and aggregate-oriented, and ERN avoids advertising profiles and cross-site tracking. See the privacy page for details.

Are ERN Guide and Now Moments active?

The deterministic Guide can help navigate existing ERN information, but the public generative Guide remains gated. Public 45-minute Now Moment media is also gated and is not activated by this page.
