Never fake LIVE.
Earth Right Now keeps source truth separate from presentation. A source must satisfy ERN’s currentness rules before ERN presents it as a current/live discovery result.
Embedded live stream
The provider permits or supports embedded playback and ERN has current source evidence plus the playback proof required for that embed. The stream can play inside ERN.
External live source
A verified-current stream exists at the provider but is not embedded in ERN. ERN says “Live stream available at the source” and offers “Open live source.” The provider remains the source owner/operator.
Current image
A refreshed image may be presented as current only when ERN has appropriate freshness evidence. A static image on a reachable webpage is not automatically current.
Source recheck due
A known source can remain in the catalog after its verification window expires, but it stops being treated as current. ERN may provide a neutral provider-source handoff while clearly marking the record as reference-only or due for recheck.
Unavailable or degraded
If the source is broken, offline, degraded or has no usable current handoff, ERN uses unavailable language and does not promote the place as an ordinary live result.
Attribution and timestamps
Destination pages identify the provider, source type and the latest reliable ERN check timestamp when one exists. ERN does not manufacture timestamps and does not imply continuous monitoring between checks.
